Experience

New to University Tutor, but not to tutoring: I have extensive experience in private tutoring for High School Math and Science classes, with a proven record in improving student performance and increasing understanding of course material. I have brought many C and D students in Math and Science up to a consistent A/B average. I tutor because I enjoy helping students understand a subject and seeing visible progress from lesson to lesson in their academic success. My lessons are flexible and can be molded to fit a student's needs, whether it is one-time test prep or regular classes to bring up the grades of a struggling student, or anything in between. I am available most weekdays and weekends with advance notice, and I offer both online lessons and in-person tutoring. I will drive to meet students, usually at local libraries or coffee shops. I teach Math, Science, and English at all levels (K-12, College, AP and non-AP). Additionally, I serve as a debate coach and essay editor for students. I can work with students to improve their SAT and ACT scores, and I can help prepare students for SAT 2 Subject tests. I can also help students prepare for final exams and AP exams. I provide college admissions advising for interested students in the form of essay editing and application guidance. Having gone through the entire grueling process before, I know that it's incredibly helpful to have outside input on essays and applications. It's never too early to get started on college applications, and I can provide structure and guidance throughout the hectic process. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
