I spent four years of my college career at St. Edward's University pursuing and achieving a bachelor's degree in biology (BS). I graduated with a 3.52 gpa, with cum laude honors in May 2015. I am currently taking a year off and applying for medical school.
Experience
I am a college graduate as of May 2015. During my college career, I have been a supplemental instruction leader for 3 years, reviewing freshman level biology for 6 semesters. Being an SI for 6 semesters, I have been a part of the relevant courses each semester I have SI'd for, including the semester I had originally taken the class (meaning I have been in the each freshmen level biology course both fall and spring four times). Other than the class I have SI'd for, I have taken courses such as physiology, anatomy, evolution, microbiology, and molecular biology, all of which would help supplement my tutoring sessions. I feel like being a tutor in my time off would be extremely beneficial for not only myself but for my students. I strive to make those I tutor feel as comfortable as possible by creating a peer-to-peer learning environment.

Hobbies
During my college career, I was a part of multiple organizations, including the Asian student association, Multicultural Leadership Board, and the American Medical Student Association. Being a part of these organizations have allowed me to create events with the purpose of educating my college campus in regards to social justice, multiculturalism, and equality. In my leisure, I am an avid video game player. I would consider it the hobby that swallows most of my time. Other than online gaming, my other hobbies include reading (my favorite book is House of God by Samuel Shem), playing guitar, singing, and writing.
