ExperienceAs an aspiring doctor, my goal in life is to help people, and in that sense I see a lot of parallels between medicine and tutoring. Both professions are there to help people perform at their fullest potential, and I hope that when I become a doctor, I have the same feeling of satisfaction I get from tutoring my students. As a student of the University of Houston, I have had the opportunity to tutor various students while studying for my Biomedical Engineering bachelor's degree. My plan is to follow the pre-med track and minor in Chemistry. I have been enthusiastically pursuing a career as a tutor since my days at high school, where I stayed after school to help my classmates in their studies. Since then, I have become quite skilled at teaching math and English, as well as being able to efficiently prepare my students for various exams. I am a huge proponent of positive reinforcement, and I make sure I congratulate the student on areas in which they excelled before addressing the areas in which they need improvement. In this way, I am able to imbue the student with confidence, and this technique ensures that they are listening when I give them instruction on how to approach areas that are a source of difficulty.
