Experience
I graduated with a PhD from Texas A&M and currently work as a professional chemist. As a parent of four homeschooled children, I've always played a very active role in my children's education. There's nothing I like more than being able to take a hands-on approach to teaching, where I have the opportunity to share my own knowledge and experiences with my children so that I can help prepare them for success in the world. Along with teaching my children, I also have experience working as a lecturer and one-on-one tutor, where I've assisted eager students with improving their understanding of chemistry and various other subjects. My teaching experience has allowed me to work with people of all ages and proficiency levels, including undergraduate and graduate students in the university setting. I believe that one of the skills that makes a good tutor is efficiency. Being able to help students learn how to study more effectively so that they don't waste their time focusing on insignificant details doesn't only help them succeed in the classroom, it can also aid them in developing the thinking and problem-solving skills needed to excel when out in the world. When I'm not working in chemistry, I like to spend my time running or playing volleyball.
